Week of 1.7: What's New in Product

Our What’s New posts are used to announce various changes in product from features to integrations. To stay up-to-date be sure to subscribe!

Let’s start with the biggest news first, Stakeholder licenses are now available for no additional cost to your Opsgenie subscription. Keep non-responders like executives, departmental teams, or those effected by an incident informed with optionally pre-created, real-time updates and messages. With free stakeholder licenses, stakeholders can:

  • Get notified automatically of an incident or relevant alert
  • View Service Status Pages
  • Subscribe to a service to receive notifications

Stakeholders can be easily added from the Users page within the Opsgenie app. For more information about Stakeholders and best practices, see our blog The Key to Keeping Stakeholders Informed During Incident Management

Opsgenie Actions (Beta)

Opsgenie Actions enable you to easily automate common remediation steps and free up resources and . bandwidth for more complex tasks. Easily run scripts and playbooks via third-party automation platforms. Simply configure your automation tool as an action channel in Opsgenie so responders can execute actions from the Opsgenie interface, even from the mobile app. To try the beta version, contact us to get Opsgenie Actions turned on in your account.

API Key Management
In addition to the API keys for integrations, API keys can now also be created and saved separately for global configuration requests, not tied to any integration, from the new API Key Management tab in the Settings page. Account owners and global admins can simply generate API keys that can have different access rights depending on the use case.

We’re excited to announce our integration with WhatsUp(R) Gold. WhatsUp(R) Gold is a monitoring application, providing you with complete visibility into the status and performance of applications, network devices, and servers both in the cloud or on-prem. Use Opsgenie to dispatch WhatsUp(R) Gold notifications via your preferred method SMS, phone call, push etc. An alert triggered in WhatsUp Gold will automatically create an alert in Opsgenie. If WhatsUp Gold closes the alert, the alert will automatically be closed in Opsgenie through the integration. For more details, see our docs

The new Jenkins Plugin (released with version 1.8) enables customers to trigger Opsgenie a step function for each pipeline stage and send updates to Opsgenie.

New Relic
Our New Relic integration is now available in our EU app. See the EU app here.
